I’m usually the one taking actors photos, but over the last few years I’ve turned the tables and asked actors (and directors) to take my picture. I usually give them a choice of equipment. They are in complete control and can pretty much tell me what to do. Here’s four of my favourite’s so far with more to follow later.
Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, War Horse) took the B&W one with my Hassleblad, Darren Boyd (Case Sensitive, Holy Flying Circus) took the rather strange one of me behind the mannequin on my Iphone using the Hipstamatic App, Mark Gatiss (The League of Gentlemen, Doctor Who, Sherlock) took the multiframed shot on a plastic lomo and Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Where The Wild Things Are) took the wide angle shot with me sitting on the floor with my Canon 5D MkII. Some gifted snappers out there….
